Textile on water
Textile on water is environmental art project – Classical textile techniques and original textile materials framing the reflection of the cosmos on water. The project explores the connections between the local and the global, blending the contemporary with the culture and the history.
What is Environmental Art? While there is no fixed definition, environmental art is considered to be any artwork that improves our connection to the natural world. Much of it is made to degrade, collapsing and disappearing over time, reabsorbing back into the natural environment.
Textile on water: made from the nature – made in the nature – stays in the nature.
The project is made from fresh green water reed and dry corn leaves weaved together and displayed on water surface.
First presentation of the project was in Bulgaria- International Symposium for plastic arts - Via Pontica - Iasna poliana (1998).
